Didactic support

UITE supports the teaching team of Unimet in processes associated to educational innovation, transformation of content, and teaching and learning strategies. Also, the Unit accompanies them in their training in evaluation strategies.

UITE offers pedagogical assistance in:

• Design or choosing of teaching, learning and evaluation strategies.
• Creation of competency-based evaluation rubrics.

Instructional and Curriculum Design

UITE advises the academic and service departments of Unimet in the design, monitoring and competency evaluation of projects, study programs and courses. This, in accordance with the pedagogical and didactic principles of the university’s educational model. Likewise, the Unit provides support in the implementation of courses that guide the educational transformation towards innovation or the use of new technologies.

Educational resources

UITE supports the teaching team of Unimet in the design, creation and use of educational multimedia resources, that benefit innovation in the learning and teaching process.

The creation of educational resources:

• Includes multimedia and the traditional ‘pencil and paper’.
• Maintains standards in the creation of audiovisual resources, for those created for digital platforms as well as those designed as support for face to face activities.

Virtualization

UITE assists the teaching staff of Unimet in the effective incorporation of educational platforms in courses that favor innovation in the teaching and learning process.

The content virtualization includes:

• Design of virtual learning environments, integrating pedagogical and technological elements that guarantee the quality of the process.
• Assistance in the use of technological tools to facilitate learning in virtual courses.

Distance education

The Innovation and Educational Technology Unit provides information and training, to the Unimet faculty, in the creation of virtual classrooms for distance teaching courses. Likewise, the Unit assists in cases of technological restrictions, providing assistance in classroom design, based on the program and timetable of the courses.

The Unit also offers advice in the elaboration and implementation of tests, competency strategies, use of educational platforms, and creation of rubrics, effective presentations, and videos.

Requests

In case of requiring assistance from UITE, teachers must inform on the virtualization of their courses to the heads of Department, who will sent directly to the Unit the corresponding information and list of courses.
